Muscat International Airport
The opening of the first phase of the Muscat International Airport was on December 14, 2014, which involve:
- Northern runway, related passages and the runway infrastructure.
- Support systems for the management of air traffic.
- Air Traffic Control tower.
- The Complex of Meteorology and Air traffic control.
- Firefighting and rescue station.
- Information Centre.
- PACA headquarters building.
- The road which link between Sultan Qaboos Street and November 18 the road.
The total area of the work of the third package terminal as follows: the terminal is about 580 thousand m2, including building services, car parking and annex buildings with an area of 37 thousand m2. The airport will have an annual capacity of 12 million passengers in first stage expandable to 48 million passengers annually in latter stages. The building includes at (118) booths to complete the traveling procedures and (82) a table of Immigration and Passports, including benches for VIP. The airport also encompasses (4 stars) hotels that contains (90) room with facilities. The hotels are expandable to 90 other rooms. The building contains (10) belts lines for baggage handling.
The building includes lounges for VIP, first and business class. In addition to that, there are (29) gates linked to 40 bridge to transport passengers to and from the aircraft, and (16) ground gates to transport passengers by bus. number of tethered aircraft positions bridges (29) position and (10) other positions fed by bus, and the number will rise to (30) position in future expansion, and the number of parking lots in the building of more than 7,000 positions.
Salalah Airport
Salalah Airport is one of the most promising destinations, given that its excellence geographic position and the tourism growth it usually witnesses especially during Khareef season season. The airport was opened on November 11, 2015 with capacity of about two million passengers a year and that can be expanded to six million passengers. It was built with a construction area of more than 150,000 m2 at a cost of (365) million RO, as it has huge potential in terms of systems, equipment and services provided therein, and can receive large aircraft types. It is worth mentioning that the operation of Salalah Airport actually began on 15th June 2015.
Sohar Airport
Sohar Airport, approximately 10km northwest of Sohar, which mean that passengers can avoid the two-hour long drive from/to Muscat. The airport functions as a new gateway for passenger, cargo and courier traffic in northern Oman, and a domestic and emergency alternative to Muscat International Airport. It adds to an up-to-the-minute multimodal transport network that will stimulate additional economic growth in the Sultanate of Oman. The early operation of the airport was on November 18, 2014. The third package was recently assigned. Currently, the temporary building is equipped to receive international flights, and there are discussions with international airlines to use it to run international flights to some countries such as India, Iran, Doha, and others.

It consists of (4) boarding bridges, and (7) booths to complete the traveling procedures. The runway length is (4) km, and width is (75) meters, and the control tower height is (37) m. Construction works for each airport have been divided into three packages, the first one includes airport road network and utilities. The second package contains construction works for the runway, taxiway, apron, and all other accessories.
Duqm Airport
Duqm airport serves as a gateway into a region with significant economic, industrial and commercial potential as it primarily handles business traffic, but may also become part of the tourism industry. The airport started its early operations in 23rd July 2014 in order to take advantage of the ready packages. The airport received around (16,489) passengers until the end of 2015 in line Muscat-Duqm at a rate of 4 flights per week. The initiation of construction works of Duqm Airport third package (passenger terminal building and related utilities) started at the beginning of 2016 for a period of two years. There are good indicators of demand for air transport services (cargo) in the airport.

Ras Al-Hadd Airport
Ras Al-Hadd Airport locates near the town of Sur in South Sharqiya region, aims to offer tourists the opportunity to sidestep lengthy road commutes from Muscat and is part of a larger plan for eco-tourism integrated projects. The airport will complement the development of a number of eco-tourist resorts along Oman’s eastern coast, with a concerted effort being made to develop the area in a manner consistent with luxury and eco-tourism, which attracts discriminating tourists who have a specific interest in the natural world.
The first and the second packages are completed, tenders postpone the third one until the establishment of tourist facilities in the region. The terminal space in the airport is (5,600) m2. Ports
Sultan Qaboos Port
The Sultanate of Oman celebrated its first port inauguration in November,1974, yes it’s the first currently know as Sultan Qaboos port. It was established to be the first commercial port for importing and exporting services. This port attracted a big share of the various cargos as well been a key contributor in the modern development in the Sultanate of Oman . The port got a space measured (26,7) km2 and it includes 13 berths of depths varying between 4 to 13 meters .in total the total length of berths is 2592 meters. Sultan Qaboos port witnessed a series of expansion since its establishment in order to keep pace with the increasing maritime trade requirements, and so, some specialized berths were transformed into multi-purpose berths. A building for receiving tourists andtravelers also been established in 2008 as a major addition to keep pace with the developing tourism vessels activities.
In continuation to the implementation of His Majesty guidance of 2011 to transform Sultan Qaboos port into a tourism port as well shifting the commercial activities to Sohar industrial port, The ministry took great efforts to implement the this guidance thus all commercial activities were transferred in 31st August 2014 as it includes handling Roro ,container, general goods ,vehicles carriers and projects supplies vessels in Sultan Qaboos port .It Stated as well 4 months evacuation of supplies and containers stored in port bays and storage after the shifting period, until 31st December 2014 . The port is now operated by Port services company (PASCO) in collaboration with the excellence pact with The Omani government.
Salalah Port
Salalah port is considered to be a hub for distributing and transporting containers in the region. The port established in 1976 and was known as Raysout port. The port hasstrategic location ,due to its frontier place nearing axis of Indian Ocean countries as well its position near the international navigational routes. The port has an area space of (10,81) km2 and it includes 19 berths of 3-18 meters deep. Its total lengths are 4,433 meters. In 1998 the first reloading operation was commenced in the container station which was established as part of the port expansion campaign which is still ongoing. The container station consists of 6 berths all of their total lengths are (2128) meters long of also, 16-18 meters deep. In the after years the port became aworld class port and it will handle an increasing number of vessels as will handling huge sizes of containers. Today the port is a passing container distributing hub between the west and east.
The port includesgeneral cargo station which was established in 1976. The station includes 11 berths of (3 to 16) meters deep, (115-600) meters long. The cargo movement in general cargo station is estimated as 2,7 Tons millions annually varied from general materials to bulk ones as well fuel load platforms. Salalah port was prepared itself to be a hub in which all giant vessels sets sail in it, within main and secondary shipping lines. It prepared itself also for the simplified customs facilitation, competitiveness tariff, all of these factors helped the port to bea main center for reloading in the entire region. Salalah port Services Company now works on managing and operating Salalah port in accordance to the excellence pact that the Omani government inked .it also manage the port by coordinating with Salalah free zone administration as well other companies working in the zone, in order to increase the local commercial interests. The company also managing the conatainer station with the supervision of (IBM) which holds shares in the company.
Sohar Port
The government started the process of varying the national income by the start of the new millennium as well reducing the dependence on oil by establishing Sohar Industrial Port. The port is specialized in the industrial activities, beside the general cargo trade and containers in Sohar City. the port area size is estimated to be more than (45) KM2 and it includes (21) berths of depths around 16 meters to 25 meters with total lengths of (6270) meters. Sohar port is located 240 kmafar from north of Muscat. The construction works in the port started in 1999 which the government investment in its infrastructure is estimated around 4 billion and half Dollars. The infrastructure included water breakers, berths construction for stations of liquid, bulk and dry material as well containers. Also installing gas pipes from Fohood to Sohar as well crude oil pipes between Muscat and Sohar. Another is Cooling water pump station for factories, regenerator station, water conversion. Lastly infrastructure such as roads, drainage and other services facilities.
The government assigned the task of developing and managing the port to Sohar Industrial port company with the contribution of both Oman’s governorate and Rotterdam port management team. The company oversees the zone management including investment companies licensing in operating the various cargo handling stations aswell ink contracts for land renting to be used as a space to establish industrial projects and economic activities. Linked to the port are the industrial zones and economic ones which enabled it to attract major industrial projects which are Oil andgas -dependent such as petroleum, oil and metal industries. A free zone was attached to the port too. its area size is estimated around (4500) Hectare.The zone will be developed by the same partners and it will include also secondary or sub-industries (Petrochemical+ metals). another complexes also will be for logistics.
Duqm port
Duqm port is considered to be one of the major economical projects which will enhance the Omani national economy. Another is its contribution in varying revenue by attracting the major industrial investments as well any in establishing economic zones, developing various sectors plus logistics and any other supporting works. The project consists of two breakwaters length (8.7)kilometers and commercial berth length (2.250) meters and a depth of (18) meters government berth as well services. also an entry cannel of (19) meters deep. The projects have many layouts for future berths expansions like liquid and solid materials berths as well other areas for expansions. The first phase will include the establishment of roads, buildings, utilities required for the port’s operating and management. In April 2011 dry dock was run in a trial operation in the port thus by inaugurating the operational phase of the dock by doing maintenance on first two ships owned to a Belgian company. The dry dock will do repair works on various vessels sizes including the big oil and gas vessels which carry a load of (600,000) Tons. the projects will include two (410) meter long, (95+80) meters wide, (14) meters high and (100 meters deep dry docks .Also it has berths of (2,800) meters long as well workshops and required service facilities for operation.
Shinas port
Shinas port is considered to be one of the key ports in stimulating local commerce between N.Batina Wellayats regarding Catching fish, livestock trade and agricultural product trade. The port witnessed many developments since its establishment in 1996 after it was a small port for fishing which served local fishermen and was only with two water breakers. Royal orders from H.M were issued to transform it into a commercial port. Due to the Royal orders the ministry started the development steps; also expansion. Lately the main scheme for developing the port was finally prepared as well approved by the Supreme council of planning in 29th December 2013 in which the implementation must be divided into phases. The main goal of the project is to establish a port which will back up the local economy as well elevate the income living level in Shinas.it will also help getting themax benefits of Shinas aspects and features such a natural element, historical environment and the strategic location between the major consumption marketsand the economic zone in Sohar.
Khasab Port
Khasab port in Musandam Governorate has a strategic location near Hurmez strait in the vast northern corner of the sultanate of Oman. Due to its location the government held a high interest on it in order to attract and encourage the commerce movement and serving the local economy of the governorate. In 30th September2012, Royal orders issued to develop Khasab port in regard to Management, operating and upgrading its efficiency by building sea berth as well finding the appropriate space of enough capacity for commerce, tourism, and other facilitation activities like stops. The current size of the port is (159 hectare), 300m long commercial berth, 100m long traditional fishing berth and 8 floating berths. The orders also included establishing prober places to receive commercial vessels and boats owners as well tugboats and its usage training. Development of the area surrounding the port in accordance with the consultancy studies as well conducting the required expansion for the port during the next (5 years plan) , which will intake the future tourism and economic activities of the port.
Shana and Halanyat Harbor
Shana harbor is considered to be one of the development projects in Wusta Governorate. This harbor will serve the tourism movement and transporting citizens to and from Maseira Island from The harbor. Trips by the harbor which the ferries commenced in Shina and Maseira island Harbors during the ending period of 2013 reached (4,249) trips and over (57,962) vehicles. The National ferries company presented two new ferries to work between Maseira and Shana port. There is still ongoing work in implementing sea works for Sea harbor as will road network in Halanyat isles project. The project will include constructing Water breakers, Fishermen Berths, Commercial berths for small vessels as well berths for Coastal guard services with embedding asphalt roads of (19km).
