“Nawaris” of Saif Ramadan: Poems with a nostalgic flavour

Muscat, (ONA) - The Poet Dr. Saif Al-Ramadani returns to his readers, resuming his journey with publishing, more than eight years after the publication of his last poem, “Fanoos” in 2012, which was proceeded by the Diwan of “Reefiyah” by about twenty years, that is, in 1992.

Ramadan opens his new poem Nawaris (seagulls) with a poem of the same title, as a dedication to those seagulls, whose name he gave to his poetic edition:

All gulls could float and clap

Except my poetry gull is used to drowning

They flew with the clouds where fertility bears them

Left alone … no shadow or leaves

In love the threads of the sun, spinning them

Fans and umbrellas for those who have sweat.

He gives his dedication to those who live in this land, to those who are patient to complain, to the lovers, and to those standing in the face of the wind as hearts of clouds.

The poem is exquisitely dressed by the poet Saif Ramadan, as it pursues through its components the spirit that is steadily circulating through questions of age, existence and beauty ... and the human celebration of the spirit of poetry, so the poet's “gulls” narrates the history of the relationship between places and the poet, as things are still fraught with beauty despite all the dust accumulated on the letters of poetry. As he suffers under the weight of materialism, the gulls shake their wings to fly where the sea is able to reflect with its blueness on (life), beautifying it between the whites of the wings ... and the blue, writing the poem on a deep stretch.

Between the two covers of the collection, Ramadan dedicates a poem to the spirit of the poet Abdullah Al-Khalili on the occasion of the publication of the complete poetry collection twenty years after his death.

As the beginning of the story with this seagull that appears on the horizon as a beacon of conversion, or looking for a coast of safety, the poet Saif Ramadani ends his songs with the same sound, or as if it is the last echo of the first voice at the beginning of the collection.

The collection was issued by Luban for Publishing in Muscat, and it is among the first ten publications launched in early October.
