Sur,(ONA) - The Omani Society of Writers and Literates represented by the Committee of Writers and Literates of the South Sharqiyah Governorate organized a lecture entitled “The Process of Information Processing in Human” via the ZOOM application.

The lecture was presented by Dr. Ibrahim bin Sultan Al Harthy, Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, Sultan Qaboos University, through the zoom application. The lecturer dealt with many methods related to how information is processed in humans. He talked about the thought process and the work of the human brain in processing information as well as how to pay attention to receiving information and transferring it to be processed in the brain, indicating that if the information is not processed by the brain, it is not felt.

He also explained the reason for not being able to memorize long numbers (information of a heavy and new nature) that exceed four or five numbers, indicating that memorizing them is within a maximum period of four seconds only, after which it begins to fade away, as he instructed the reason for the available capacity of the processor for the incoming and sequential information coming from the environment and then open the way for questions and discussions.

It comes within the cultural activities and programs implemented by the Committee of Writers and Literates of the South Sharqiyah Governorate during September through the ZOOM application in order to enrich the cultural and knowledge arena in many cultural, literary and historical aspects.
