New York, (ONA) - The organizers of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York intend to reopen the main building on the 29th of August after a period of closure that lasted nearly five months.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is beginning to restore its artistic activity by holding two new exhibitions that were postponed due to the closure as part of the precautionary measures for the outbreak of the novel corona virus (Covid 19) last March.
It is expected that the reopening of the main building of the ancient museum will lead many art museums in New York City to follow suit. It all depends on entering New York City in the fourth phase of its gradual reopening, which will finally allow cultural institutions, cinemas, gyms and parks to welcome visitors.
The opening of the main building of the museum coincides with the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Metropolitan Museum. The exhibitions intended to be held include more than one exhibition to evoke pivotal moments in the museum's development stages.
