Muscat,(ONA) - Writer Razan Al Balushi chose the title “No More Texts” to be the threshold for her first release, which comes out of the presses among the first publications of Al Ghasham House for Publishing and Translation after the Muscat International Book Fair, and the permission for the return of presses, which were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The author dedicated her book to the rest of the texts that will not be published, distributing her texts to numbers scattered on the 80-page publication page, in a language that indicates her mastery, and in a manner that she grasps with a skilful player who will learn more in subsequent experiences. The writer is distinguished by a culture that made her enter the depth of experience and express it.
She writes in one of the texts: “I hide at the bend and tuck myself instead of those things hoping the wind of the matter, if it surprises me, will not surprise but a firm, rugged, hard whim leaning against the bend. However, fleeing from the law of things is not written by God, so she continued to manifest it as a mystical lover. He was merciful and kind when the wind dragged me and stripped me of that feeling.
The texts vary between relatively long, short that comes as a flash of light, delights the soul, read as poetic texts or close to the story, or as a thought. She says in one of them: “Remembering made me forget what I wanted, until I remembered what I wanted to forget, and I am alive ... I, despite the loss, have the honour that I still alive!” She says in another: “Our faces are slapped by the wind while your smell is like a breath, and your features are like a star ... and your voice is like a bell in a minaret.”
Razan Al Balushi’s experience expresses a writer who has chosen to proceed with writing through a deep, spiritual narration, accompanied by a vision of the self from the inside. She did not fall into the structural and declaratory pitfalls of the first steps, despite her recent age, but rather provided evidence that continuous and deep reading is the most important, and only, path to authorship. She stayed with the self while talking about love. In one of her texts she says:
I was walking lightly
I get some remnants of the fragrance from our first date
And our last meeting
I walk slowly and remember
The last moment of prayer
For a spot that caught the moment
And I realized one thing
That the meeting that had been could not have been!
