Algeria,(ONA) Karim Kaarar, in his book on plagiarism, published by the Eczium Avoulay House in Algeria, tracks this negative phenomenon that has become a real scourge threatening the university’s mission in Algeria, and perhaps in a number of universities in the third world countries. Plagiarism has become a popular way for many lazy students who find it easy to rob the scientific effort of others in order to achieve different scientific ranks, especially in light of this technological boom provided by modern means of communication.
The author of the book confirms that plagiarism has become a real scourge, and it has cast a shadow over the Algerian universities in recent years, which has led to a decline in the quality of higher education and scientific research in Algeria. Accordingly, the ranks of Algerian universities have declined, so that this negative phenomenon has become a stumbling block in the face of the scientific progress that Algeria seeks, like other nations of the world.
This book comes, as pointed out by the researcher Karim Kaarar, to limit the spread of the repercussions of this negative phenomenon and its effects on the Algerian university, especially with regard to the quality of education and the originality of scientific research.
The book also sheds light on the phenomenon of plagiarism, which may affect the fate of the credibility of our university degrees, and the reputation of the Algerian University, by touching on many aspects of this phenomenon including the standpoint of its reality, the measures and mechanisms that have been taken at the level of universities and scientific research centres to reduce and confront it, and addressing the international rankings of Algerian universities.
It is noteworthy that the author of this book, researcher Karim Kaarar, is a university, legal, and musical artist who graduated from Badji Mokhtar University in Annaba. He obtained a master’s degree in judicial law, a BA in private law, and a higher university degree in music.
Moreover, he is an active member of civil society in the state of Annaba, as well as in the cultural milieu there. He has many experiences in literary and scientific writing, most of which are still manuscript, including an experience in writing about musical composition. Among his published books are “Rhythms and Scales of Algeria”, and “Analysis and demonstration of laws and religions.”
