“My Grandmother's Stories Collection” ... stories that bring the world of childhood closer

Muscat,(ONA) - The writer Najiya Al Habsiah chose the stories of her grandmother to re-draw them narratively in an Arabic publication entitled "My Grandmother's Stories Collection" which includes four stories accompanied by simple drawings that have connotations that bring each story closer to the world of childhood, and in loyalty to that world the author puts her image as a child with her grandmother, the narrator of the stories.

The author offers a dedication to her grandmother, telling how the idea that she describes as an attempt to evoke her grandmother's interesting narrative style was born, as her mother passed away and was still a child and lived in the custody of the grandmother, covered with her beautiful stories, and she saw that “so that those stories did not disappear, I liked that you share with me that and tell your grandchildren.” Then come the titles of the stories included in the publication, namely: “The Boy and the Hyena,” “Ghaitha and the King,” “The Witch's Wand,” and “Sanquh and the Sheep,” and at the end of each story the author sets its educational goals.

The stories were the entertainment of the orphans on nights when they missed their late mother, and the question of the five children, after the seven-month-old baby also followed them, about the deceased mother was a constant obsession that the grandmother was keen to elude him through the stories, or to ask them to go to the falaj to search for her. The grandmother is the mother who suffered and got exhausted in raising these orphans and providing them with the easy ways of life to continue their paths.

It is noteworthy that the book was issued by Luban Publishing House as part of its publication plan during December, which includes ten publications, as since its launch last October, it has been publishing ten books a month.
