Muscat, (ONA) - The Omani Camel Racing Federation begins today to receive camel owners who wish to register their camels for the installation of an electronic chip for Al-Hajayij category. The registration will last for two days.

The Omani Federation of Camel Racing said that camel owners must register their camels and pay online at the federation headquarters in Azaiba. The installation schedule for camels whose registration procedures have been terminated will be announced at a later time, stressing that camels not registered with the federation during the two registration days will not be installed, nor will be allowed to participate in the races.

Last July, the federation began installing an electronic chip for camels at the “al-fatayim” category by sending a specialized employee to place the chip on the camels whose registration procedures were completed, within the property of each owner in the wilayats of the Sultanate, to prevent mixing and gathering due to the Corona pandemic.

The installation means implanting an electronic chip in camels with a specific serial number, and the chip contains all the mount data and information related to it, so that it is recognized through an electronic chip reader, and is installed under the skin in the neck, which is the size of a grain of rice.
