Muscat, (ONA) - Hilal bin Ali Al-Oufi, the coach of the national junior football team, confirmed that the internal camp that was held for the national team during the last period and concluded on October 24 was technically successful and through which the technical staff was able to focus on the technical and tactical side, during which it played a test match with Al-Mudhaibi which ended with a positive result for the national team 1-0.
Al-Oufi added, “The plan was to have other friendly matches, but the club conditions in the Omantel League and First Division prevented that, so we hope that there will be other experiences in the upcoming camps.” He explained, “We have proposals for the first upcoming camp early next December until the 20 of the same month, which will start with an internal camp at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bousher in the preparatory journey for the Asian Cup finals in Bahrain and qualifying to the World Cup in Peru 2021 at the expense of the second group which will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain next year 2021 after it was scheduled for last September.”
The coach of the national junior football team said, “The camp, as planned, will include 4 matches with Bahrain on December 9 and 12, after we received the approval of the Bahraini Federation, and it will be held in Manama within the external camp, which will start on December 7, after the conclusion of the internal camp on December 6. There are efforts to hold two similar matches with the Saudi national team in Dammam during the external camp from December 14 to the 20 of the same month. We hope to meet amicably with the Saudi team on December 16 and 19, as we await final approval from the Saudi Federation. However, in the event that the Saudi Federation does not agree, the camp will start on November 24, and the external camp will take place in Bahrain only, to be concluded on December 15th.
The technical staff, through this camp, focuses on raising the level of physical fitness in addition to the harmony between the players with attempts to search for some friendly experiences with some local clubs in the Sultanate.
