Muscat,(ONA) - The Oman Chess Committee will inaugurate tomorrow, via video conferencing, a program to train and qualify junior and youth club players in the game within the framework of the committee’s endeavour to raise the technical level of players nominated by clubs, spreading the culture of the game and promoting its practice.
The training program continues throughout the month of September with 20 classes, and the trainings are supervised by the coach of the national team, Bashir Al-Qadimi and some cooperating coaches from outside the Sultanate by offering 5 training sessions per week. The committee seeks to attract the largest number of clubs to technically qualify its players, as the program will be an opportunity to select the best players from them to join the higher levels.
The program includes many interactive lectures as well as friendly tournaments between players and team tournaments in the same way as the clubs tournaments for teams that will be held this year electronically, in addition to presenting the basic skills of chess in theory and practice through some training programs and competitions, different planning modes in chess and the modes of openings, middlegames and endgames as well as focusing on match analysis on a weekly basis, and how to deal with chess websites.
