Muscat, (ONA) - The International Tent Pegging Federation decided to postpone the next World Cup, which was to be held in 2021 in South Africa, to be held in 2022 due to the restrictions imposed in light of the corona pandemic around the world.
Haitham bin Mohammed Al Lawati, Secretary General of the International Tent Pegging Federation, said that the decision to postpone came after the meeting of the Federation’s Board of Directors, which was held through video conferencing chaired by Mohamed bin Issa Al-Fayrouz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Tent Pegging Federation.
He added, “The decision to postpone the Tent Pegging World Cup from 2021 to 2022 came with the approval of the members due to the inability to hold the World Cup qualifiers due to the Corona pandemic. Due to the limited time and the continuation of the pandemic, it was decided to postpone the Tent Pegging World Cup to pick up the pegs. It was also decided to resume the qualifying tournaments of the World Cup and the qualitative tournaments organized by the Federation when the Corona pandemic is gone.”
