Muscat, (ONA) - The Sultanate, represented by the Oman Badminton Committee, participated in the meeting of the General Assembly of the Badminton World Federation, which was held through video conferencing. The Sultanate was represented at the meeting by Dr. Badriya bint Khalfan Al-Haddabiya, chairperson of Oman Badminton Committee and Ishaq bin Saeed Al-Hassani, Secretary of the Committee.

During the meeting, the audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2019 were approved, some provisions were amended, the term of the president of the World Federation was discussed, some amendments to the law of the game related to judicial rulings were approved, and a number of aspects related to game development in various areas were reviewed.

The Sultanate’s participation in the General Assembly meeting of the World Federation of the game will contribute to launching further the committee’s works and plans, and the Sultanate’s membership in the International Federation will contribute greatly to introducing the game in the Sultanate and activating many programs that will contribute to and help spread the game in the Sultanate and expand the base of the Omani participants in the Arab, Asian and international championships in the future.
