The General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) organized today, through video conference technology, a workshop entitled (the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the sports sector in the GCC countries, with the participation of their Excellencies, secretaries of the Olympic Committees of the GCC states.

The workshop dealt with a number of major topics related to the effects of the pandemic on the sports sector and the measures taken by the GCC countries to confront the pandemic, and how to address the existing and expected risks and challenges of the pandemic. In addition, the workshop reviewed arrangements for the return of sports activity at the national, Gulf and international levels.

The seminar came out with a number of recommendations and suggestions that will be presented to the Executive Office of the Council of Their Highnesses and Excellencies and Presidents of the Olympic Committees of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries at their next meeting.
