Rome,(ONA) - Italian soccer club Atalanta announced today that it has activated the final purchase clause in the contract of the 25-year-old Croatian international Mario Pasalic, who has been playing for the team since 2018 on loan from Chelsea.
“In these two seasons, Mario gave strong support to the team and contributed to achieving important goals such as reaching the Champions League for the first time in the club's history and reaching the quarter-finals in the Champions League this season,” the Italian club explained today.
Atalanta was reported to have signed the attacking midfielder for 15 million euros ($ 16.7 million).
Pasalic scored 15 goals in 75 matches with the team over the two seasons. He has never played for Chelsea with which he signed coming from Haydock Split in January 2014, but he left him for the Croatian team until the end of the season.
After moving to Chelsea beginning in the 2014-2015 season, Chelsea loaned him to other teams, including AC Milan in the 2016-2017 season.
