Madrid, (ONA) - The Spanish Soccer Federation announced that the Serie A matches, suspended since last March due to the new coronavirus, will resume on June 11 with Seville's meeting with Real Betis in the 28th stage of the competition.
Leader Barcelona will visit Real Mallorca on June 13, with direct chaser Real Madrid hosting Ibar the next day. The 29th stage starts on June 15th and ends on June 18th, during which Barcelona will host Leganes on June 16th, and Real Madrid will host Valencia two days later.
The association revealed the program for phases 28 and 29 only, knowing that it decided to establish two phases every week until the end of the season that it set on 19 July. “We want the next season to start on September 12,” La Liga president Javier Tebas said in a statement to Movistar Plus.
“We have developed the program to give each team a minimum of 72 hours of rest between two games, and we will update the program after every two phases in order to take into account the climatic condition which is revealed every two weeks.”
Defending champions Barcelona are two points ahead of Real Madrid at the top of the table with 11 matches remaining.
