LONDON, (ONA) Britain's Sky Sports said that Brazilian international defender David Luiz may leave Arsenal Football Club soon after only one season with the team he joined after coming from Chelsea in the summer transfer period last year.
It explained that the player may leave the team next month to end his contract at the end of the current season and the absence of negotiations with the club regarding a new contract.
There have been widespread reports that Luiz had signed a two-year contract with Arsenal, but Sky Sports had learned that the agreement between the club and the player initially provided for only one year.
It is reported that Luiz has hinted earlier this month where he might resume his football career and future. “I have always said that I wanted to end my career in Benfica, Portugal,” he said in comments to the Brazilian Sport TV channel. Luiz played for the Portuguese team between 2007 and 2011.
