“Al Hilal” has extended its contract with French “Gomez” for a fourth season.
RIYADH,(ONA) The management of Al Hilal Saudi Football Club has agreed with the French striker Bafétimbi Gomis, the club’s first football striker, to extend his contract with the club for an additional season, which will be his fourth season with the team to remain in the squad until 2022.
The Saudi newspaper, Al-Riyadiah, indicated on its website today that the extension of the player’s contract comes based on technical reports that were submitted to the club’s management after the player presented satisfactory levels during the past two years.
The newspaper, quoting anonymous sources, said that the negotiations of the two parties witnessed a great agreement to extend the contractual period.
The duration of the previous contract was three years, with a provision allowing the club to cancel the contract after the end of the second season, provided that a small amount agreed upon if the player was informed of that before the end of the second season.
It added that the contract stipulated that “in the event that the amount is not paid by Al Hilal management, the contract will be binding until the end of the third season. This was taken by Al Hilal management because it wanted the player to continue before it was agreed to sign a new contract to extend the stay of Gomis for a fourth season with Al Hilal until the end of 2022.
Gomis has shown great satisfaction with his presence in the club. Thus, he confirmed his desire to continue with the team and that he aspires to obtain the continental title again with Al-Hilal after his contribution to the team's achievement of the 2019 AFC Champions League, during which Al Hilal's Baftembi Gomis earned himself the best player and the top scorer awards.
