UEFA president is confident that the spectators will return soon

Neon, - UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin today expressed confidence that “good old football with the fans will return very soon” despite the divergence imposed by the emerging coronavirus.

Local and continental club competitions were halted across Europe in mid-March due to the “Covid-19” virus, which also caused the postponement of the European Cup 2020 from this summer to next year. The German League wheel returned to spinning successfully at the end of last week behind closed doors without the round ball lovers. Many other championships are also preparing to resume their competitions in front of the empty stands, prompting Ceferin to confirm that the situation will improve soon.

“I don't think this virus will last forever and I think it (will change) sooner than many people think,” Ceferin said. “I do not like this terrible view, which indicates that we have to wait for the second and third waves, or even the fifth wave (of the spread of the coronavirus).”

Ceferin said that football will follow the authorities ’recommendations, but he is optimistic that it will be possible to resume playing normally in the near future. “I am very sure, personally, that good old football with the fans will return very soon,” he said, noting that he is not expected to see profound changes due to the coronavirus. “Football has not changed after World War II or World War I, and it will not change because of a virus,” he said.
