Haima, December 1 (ONA) - The Oman Camel Racing Federation will organize a camel race in the Wilayat of Haima in the Al Wusta Governorate next Thursday. The race includes 8 runs, 6 of which are allocated to the Hajaij category (Bikar and Ji'dan) for a distance of 3 kilometers, and one run for the Laqaya category (Bikar), and another for the Laqaya category (Ji'dan) for a distance of 4 kilometers.
This race is one of the series of races supported by Occidental Oman as part of the local community support programs, as this agreement was signed with the Oman Camel Racing Federation for the races held in the wilayats of the oil concession areas, through which 30 cars were presented for the races of Haima, Adam and Ibri, in addition to the final race. This partnership contributed to the enrichment of camel races and the revitalization of races and competitions between the participants.
On December 16 and 17, 5 races will be held in North Al Batinah Governorate, South Al Batinah Governorate, North Al Sharqiya Governorate, South Al Sharqiya Governorate, and Dhofar Governorate. On December 30 and 31, another race will be held in the Wilayat of Adam, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. On January 13 and 14, 2021, the Wilayat of Ibri in the Dhahirah Governorate will host the camel race.
As for the Mizayanah (Camel Beautification) competition, it will be held in the Wilayat of Al Musanna in South Al Batinah from January 31 to February 4, 2021, while the annual race will take place from March 1 to 4, 2021 in the Wilayat of Suhar, North Al Batinah Governorate.
