Seeb,(ONA) - The Sunan Al Bahr Committee in the Wilayat of Al Seeb held its third meeting for this year in the meeting hall of the Wali of Seeb today, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Ibrahim bin Yahya Al Rawahi, Wali of Al Seeb, Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of the members representing government and private agencies and some fishermen in the Wilayat of Al Seeb.

The committee reviewed a number of topics related to the tasks and functions of the committee. The listened to a detailed explanation from Dr. Jumah bin Muhammad Al-Maamari, Vice President of the Omani Society for Fishermen, about the statute of the association and the tasks and duties assigned to it by the competent government agencies to practice it at the level of the Wilayats of the Sultanate located on the coasts of the Sultanate. He also addressed the most important activities and events that the branches of the association in various wilayats intend to implement during the coming period within the work plan drawn up by the association, in addition to clarifying the terms of membership of the association.

In the meeting, a study was presented on the issue of fish control in the Wilayat of Al Seeb and finding appropriate mechanisms to deal with it, and the idea of developing and improving the fishermen's shelters spread on the wilayat's beach, in a manner consistent with the general and beautiful view of the Wilayat as well as examining the fishermen's requests for licenses for fishing outlets in the traditional way.
