Muscat: As per the royal directives of His Majesty the Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Ministry of Interior has decided to postpone the elections of the Municipal Councils for the third term, scheduled for later this year.

Members of the current term will continue discharging their duties in the given circumstances, the statement from the ministry said.
