Arab Health Ministers Council Recommends Setting Up Emergency Platform

The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Health, participated yesterday in meetings of the executive bureau of Arab Health Ministers in preparation for the 54th ordinary session of the Council due to be held via videoconferencing today.

The Sultanate was represented in the meeting by Dr. Ahmed Mohammed al-Sa’eedi, Minister of Health.

The meeting reviewed and endorsed agenda of the forthcoming online health ministers’ session.

The executive bureau is expected to submit an urgent recommendation for discussion before the Arab Health Ministers Meeting in tomorrow’s session, including a proposal to set up a joint platform under the Arab league (and in cooperation with Health and Housing ministers) to undertake quick response to emergency situations, including catastrophes and accidents that might cause great loss of life.

The executive bureau’s meeting endorsed the final draft of the agenda of Arab Health Ministers Council’s 54th session scheduled to take place at the Arab League’s premises in Egypt tomorrow.
