His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, affirmed that the “Together Forward” Forum, organised by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, embodies a practical translation of the Sultanate of Oman’s approach to consolidating constructive dialogue between state institutions and society, enhancing public awareness, and providing space to discuss public policies and government programmes within a framework of responsibility and accountable national discourse.
In a press statement, His Excellency explained that the forum, in all its editions, aims to provide an inclusive national platform that contributes to strengthening positive communication and listening to diverse opinions and viewpoints in a manner that ensures freedom of opinion and expression within its responsible framework. He added that this reflects the approach established by the wise leadership, based on entrenching the principles of transparency, dialogue, openness, and respect for diversity of perspectives.
His Excellency stated that the “Together Forward” Forum gives practical expression to the concept of “one team” emphasised by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, may God protect and preserve him, which is founded on complementarity of roles, unifying efforts between state institutions and society, and working in a spirit of shared responsibility. This supports the national development process and serves the Sultanate of Oman’s aspirations towards a future of greater growth and prosperity across various fields.
He indicated that the forum addressed a number of principal themes, including aspirations for investment in sectors of economic priority, the development of governorates and their role in promoting investment in those sectors, alongside other themes related to economic and social development, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
He noted that the forum witnessed serious and objective discussions on these themes, which contributed to strengthening mutual understanding, narrowing differences in viewpoints, and reflected an effective partnership between the state and society in addressing issues of national priority.
His Excellency added that the forum accorded special attention to the aspirations of the younger generation by listening to their views and proposals and involving them in discussions on various development pathways, particularly the economic track, thereby enhancing their awareness of challenges and opportunities and affirming their pivotal role in the present and the future.
He pointed out that the forum was distinguished by in depth and promising propositions presented by young people, particularly school, college, and university students, who put forward notable ideas and experiences reflecting a high level of awareness of their capabilities and significant potential, as well as of the wide opportunities available to them in various fields, especially in business in all its forms.
