Sohar University is the first private Omani university, which is established in 2001. The university is academically affiliated to the Australian University of Queensland. The University has six major colleges: Business School, College of Engineering, College of Computer and Information Technology, College of Education and Arts, and English College. The University's vision is to make the University known globally as a comprehensive and distinguished university by providing a high level of quality education, research and participation that will enhance the economy, society and culture of the Sultanate of Oman.
Its mission is to prepare a skilled, knowledgeable, articulate and proactive generation of graduates, who have the ability to contribute effectively to this changing world in which they live and work through their educational experience, which is a positive challenge for them at Sohar University.
